Rumor has it that General Motors is going to give the new Corvette model a retro look? But is that really going to work? It is true that this style has worked for other manufacturers – but when it comes to this American muscle car is that really what consumers will want?

The one great thing that people have loved about the Corvette is that it has stayed true to the fact that it has always been able to offer the right amount of power and performance for an affordable price. There may be no need for them to give it a new look. However, the fact that recent models have taken cues from the C4 design means that it does not look much like anything of its classic look.

One enthusiast showed how much he loves the classic Corvette look by using a third-generation Corvette for inspiration on a rebodied current version of the Corvette – the C6. He calls it the second version of the C3R. The front fender peaks and steep rear buttresses are taken from the early C3 series as well as the hidden headlights.

Unfortunately there are no plans to produce a car that is based on these renderings. But we were impressed with the designs that Cyrulewski came up with. And we hear that he has not yet finished.
